Lesson 3 of 14

The deadly plants: umbellifers, foxglove, arums and berries

40 min

A beck in late spring. Along its bank stands a lush clump of glossy, parsley-like leaves, and where last winter's floods ate into the bank, a bunch of pale, fat roots hangs out of the soil like fingers. They look like parsnips. People have eaten them for exactly that reason, and some of them have died.
